Long time St Pete resident, Gordon Robert Hightower passed away October 28th, at Westminster Suncoast. He was born May 3rd, 1921 in St George, SC and moved to St Pete in 1926. After serving in the Army Air Corp during World War 11 as a Master Sgt working on the "Flying Fortress" , he joined the St Pete Police force & retired in 1985 as the chief investigator for the State Attorneys office. Survivors include; son Dennis & Gail Hightower, daughter Susan & Mark Chatlos, daughter Debi & Robert Whipple, 7 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren & many nieces & nephews.
