He was born in Berlin, West Germany. He was a US Army Veteran, and member of VFW lodge # 2473 and RA UNASBD. He was an engineer technician and educator.

He worked for Sears and Linvatec. He is survived by his wife; Sandra K. Hale, of 20 years. Son; Eric, daughter; Robin Contois.

He was pre-deceased by his parents, Karl Hale and Irma Hale
