Arlene (Thomas) Mizerski

Arlene passed away on Thursday.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Bob and 2 sons; Todd and Jason all of Clearwater.

She also has a sister Joan Fiala of Clearwater.

Bob asked if he could write the obituary and it follows.

My wonderful wife Arlene Mizerski

We were both born and raised on the south side of Chicago, Il. We met in 1960 at a local dance club and upon seeing Arlene for the first time I said “That’s the girl for me.”

Fortunately for me when I asked her to dance she said yes and that set off our wonderful journey through life.. We were married in May of 1961 and honeymooned in Miami Beach, a place we both loved. When some friends of ours retired they moved to St. Petersburg and that was our introduction to the West Coast. Many visits later we moved here with our three sons in 1979 and settled in Largo to be near good schools and shopping. Arlene worked part time as my construction business grew.

In 1980 we bought our first boat and our family began to enjoy fishing. In 1987 we bought a new, larger, off shore Wellcraft fishing boat. Arlene enjoyed fishing through the years and we enjoyed the time together with just the 2 of us. She was my shipmate and never failed to catch fish.

Besides fishing we loved to travel in our conversion van with trips out West through Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and ending up in Las Vegas, Nevada. We both liked gaming. We made numerous trips along old Route 66 visiting the Grand Canyon, old mining towns up in the hills and small towns along the way.

I miss the love of my life but I am thankful for the time we had together. God took you too soon. I love you baby. I will miss your good morning and good night kiss. I love you and I look for the day when we will be together again in heaven where I know you are.
