Webster, Douglas Roy, 67 yrs., of Sand Key (Clearwater Beach), passed away on Friday, July 23, 2010, after losing his battle with melanoma. He was the husband of Jody (Arnold) Webster, who was his best friend, confidante and constant companion. Doug was the son of the late Roy Webster of Leominister, MA. Doug, also known as "Web", grew up living on Lake Whalom in Lunenburg,MA where in his early teen years he worked as a deckhand on a tour boat that took visitors from Whalom Park on rides around the lake. He was instrumental in the formation of a water ski club that performed for park visitors, where he specialized in water ski gymnastics expositions and trick and show ski demonstrations. During the winter months, he was a participant in the auto ice races that were held on Lake Whalom. He was a member of the Shriner's Aleppo Temple Aurora Lodge of Fitchburg, MA. Doug worked for many years in the family car business before undertaking a career change to property and casualty insurance, both personal and commercial. He was a principal in multiple insurance agencies in Massachusetts and continued his insurance career after relocating to Sand Key. He fostered his love of boating by exploring Florida's West Coast and the Keys. He is also survived by his mother; Marion Webster, of Leominister, MA a brother and sister-in-law; Wayne and Dimity Webster of St. Augustine, Fl; his Uncle Bernard and Aunt Helen DiNatale of Fitchburg, MA; a cousin, Bernard DiNatale and his wife Carolyn of Dunstable, MA; his beloved wife Jody’s sons, Burt Arnold of Clearwater and Keith Arnold and his wife Linda and their son Christopher of Ft. Lauderdale. He also leaves numerous friends. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy in Doug’s name may be made to Moffit Cancer Center.
