Edith Phillips Moore, 90, formerly of Clearwater, went to be with the Lord on January 26, 2010 in Taylors, South Carolina. She was born February 20, 1919 in Burnside, Kentucky and moved to Clearwater in 1930. She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Wavle, and son-in-law, Doug, of Taylors, and a son, Michael, and daughter-in-law, Tanya, of Charles City, Virginia. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, John Moore.
Mrs. Moore was a member of Hampton Park Baptist Church of Greenville, SC and was formerly a member of Starkey Road Baptist Church of Seminole. She was a poll worker at many Pinellas elections. She was a member of the Clearwater Historical Society and the St. Petersburg Writers Club. She was active for many years in the Senior Citizens Center of Clearwater, and published a cookbook of her prize-winning recipes.
