Elaine E (Johnson) Suter

Elaine Elizabeth (Johnson) Suter, age 93, passed away at her daughter's home in Seminole, FL on December 28, 2022. She was surround by her loving family.

Elaine is survived her sister Charlotte Johnson (Joan Gauthey) of Washington, CT; her daughter, Elise Pennington (Jim) of Seminole, FL; her granddaughter, Tiara Sammarco(Grant) and her great grandson Ryker of Pinellas Park, FL

She is pre-deceased by her husband of 47 years, Gerald and her son, Keith both of St. Petersburg, FL. Also, her parents, Hugo and Violet Johnson of Washington, CT.

Elaine was born in New Milford, CT in 1929. She grew up in the small town of Washington, CT where she spent her first 18 years. After high school, she traveled to  Chicago to start her education and eventual career in nursing. She attended North Park Junior College, now North Park University, and completed her nurses training at Swedish Covenant Hospital. She had  a long career in nursing that took her to several different states. Her favorite job was being a Stewardess-Nurse on the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad system. She met Jerry during this time, and they were married in 1961.

Moving to Florida in 1967 with her family in tow, she continued her nursing passion at St. Anthony's Hospital in the obstetrics department for many years. When nearing retirement, she became the school nurse at Clearwater Christian College where she finished out her career.

Elaine enjoyed traveling with her husband Jerry in their RV. They made many trips across the country and had great adventures with cherished friends.

Elaine was member of Pasadena Community Church and sang in the Blue Angel Choir.

During her later years, she finally got the companion she always wanted, her cat, Misty. Misty has been a faithful companion for 13 year.

A memorial service to honor Elaine will be held at Pasadena Community Church, 227  70th Street S., St. Petersburg, Florida 33707, in the chapel on January 7, 2023 at 1 p.m.

A reception to follow in Hamilton Auditorium.
