Baby, James S. 92, passed away peacefully February 20, 2017, He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marilou; daughter, Mary Sanders; son, Jamey (Missy); grandchildren, Elizabeth Berry (Troy), Kaitlyn Saners (Tim), Kelsey Kelly (Patrick), Daryl Baby (Kevin) Sloane Green (Travers); great-granchildren, Shane Berry, Liam Berry, and Grace Kelly. Jim was born February 13, 1925 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. He was insistant he was the 13th baby born that at 1:13 in the afternoon. (The 13th hour). He was raised in Toronto, where he met his futuer wife. Gaining dual citizenship, he enlisted in the United States Army during World War II. Upon his return, Jim attended Brown University, where he graduated, majoring in English. Jim and Marilou married soon after, and raised their family in the Cleveland, OH area, mostly in Lakewood. Jim's day job was in the insurance field, but his passion was music. He made a name for himself in the Dixieland Jazz world, playing both the trumpet and piano. His music brought great joy to many, especially his family. In 1974, Jim brought his family to Clearwater, as he was one of the pioneers with Progressive Insurance in the State of Florida. He continued playing music, primarily with the Black Cat Jazz Band. Jim was a great family man, and set a great example for those lucky enough to have known him. A small service will be held Friday, February 24, at 3 p.m. at the Good Samaritan Church of Clearwater.
