Jean A. Day, age 82, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2016 after an extended illness.
Jean was fortunate to live a long, happy, and fulfilling life. Class, dignity and elegance don’t even begin to describe her many qualities.
She first and foremost was a loving wife and mother, who took great pleasure in raising her family. All who knew Jean were touched by her brilliant smile and kind gestures. Her devotion to family was total.
Jean was born in Boston, MA, to the late George and Angelina Usseglio, grew up in Watertown, MA, and graduated from Watertown High School. She initially worked in administration for Raytheon, then intermittently over the next thirty years for various technology companies.
In retirement in Clearwater, Jean enjoyed golf, gardening, sunsets on the beach, old classic movies, jigsaw puzzles, and an active lifestyle.
Jean is reunited with her daughter Karen Day who passed to heaven in February of 2013.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, John Day of Clearwater, her daughter Kim Day of Clearwater, her son Chris Day and his wife Jennifer of Largo, her brother Richard Usseglio, her sisters Joyce Greco, and Johanne Mazzola, grandchildren Nikole Baird, Ryan Speropulos, Shannon Day, Morgan Day, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation is 2-4 pm on Thursday 2/18/16 at Rhodes Funeral Home 800 Druid Rd E, Clearwater. rhodesfuneraldirectors.com Funeral Services are Friday at 10:30 am at St. Cecelia Catholic Church, Clearwater.
