John Day

John H. Day, age 92, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2017.

John was fortunate to live a long, happy, and fulfilling life. He was a true gentleman, kind, loving generous and brilliant.

John wasa lovinghusband and father totally devoted to hisfamily.  He never failed to put a smile on anyone’s face.

John was born in St. Stephen, New Brunswick Canada,to the lateThomas E. and Annie R. Day. He grew up in Miltown N.B, Canada and Bangor Maine graduating from John Bapst High School in Bangor. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering and Physics from the University of Maine. At graduation, he received the prestigious academic awards of membership in the honor society of Phi Kappa Phi and the honor society of Tau Beta Pi. He also holds a Masters degree in Mathematics and Physics from Northeastern University. Heinitially worked for RCA in New York then Raytheon in Waltham MA.incommercial engineeringresearch for over a decade.His career shifted into sales engineering where he spent the next thirty years which included running DeVeer Sales Engineering Company as its President.

Retiring to Clearwater FL., John enjoyedTampa Bay Lightning hockey, golf, crossword puzzles, sunsets on the beach,andan active lifestyle.

Johnispredeceased by his wife of 61 years, Jean and their daughter Karen Day.

He is also the brother of the late Francis E. Day, Katherine Craig, Thomas E. Day Jr, Dr. Leo A. Day, Joseph A. Day and M. Rose Day

He is survived by his daughter Kim Day of Clearwater, his son Chris Day and his wife Jennifer of Largo, grandchildren Nikole Baird, Ryan Speropulos, Shannon Day, Morgan Day, and severalnieces, andnephews.
