Joseph Chiampi Obituary

JOSEPH J. CHIAMPI

Joseph J. Chiampi (Ciampi), 92, passed peacefully on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at the Palms of Largo in Largo, FL.  He was the beloved and devoted husband of 64 years to the late Marie E. (Haduk) Chiampi who died in 2006.  Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA, where he lived until moving to Largo in 1975, he was the son of the late Fidele and Maria (Manganiello) Ciampi.  He was predeceased in death by four brothers and four sisters.  Joseph served in the Navy during WWII.  He was a machinist, welder, and a mechanic for various employers in the Wilkes-Barre area before retiring in 1974.

He is survived by three daughters and their spouses, Mary Ann (Richard) Clemow and Marguerite (Henry) Pretzman both of Clearwater, FL, and JoAnn (Alfred) Weston of Plymouth, PA,  and a son, Frank (Harriet) Champi of Cumberland, RI, as well as 11   grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 8th, at 10:00 a.m. from St. Cecilia Church with interment at Calvary Cemetery, both in Clearwater, FL.  Arrangements are by Rhodes Funeral Directors.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Suncoast Hospice, 5771 Roosevelt Blvd., Clearwater, FL 33760, or a charity of your choice.
