Our beloved mother, Marion L. Ellershaw Budreau, passed peacefully from this life, held in love by the hands of her youngest children on Saturday, May 11, 2024. Knowing she was loved, and comforted by Jehovah‘s promise that she would wake in Paradise to be reunited with her husband, the late Ralph C. Budreau.
Marion was born September 4, 1940, in Springfield, MA, and raised in Agawam, MA, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Ruth (Slade) Ellershaw. After high school Marion devoted her life to loving and raising her five children and three bonus children. But, eight wasn’t enough, so Marion fostered eight children in need of a home. Upon relocating to St. Petersburg, FL, this creative working mother established a business alongside her husband remodeling and selling homes in Florida. After closing that chapter she pursued a career in dental hygiene, treating patients and managing the office of Dr. Riddle for many years before retiring.
Marion had an adventurous spirit and enjoyed making memories with family and friends exploring the country and cruising to tropical islands. She was a life-long summertime “Cape Codder” who delighted in extraordinary sunsets, magnificent clouds and salty sea breezes on a Cape Cod day while surrounded by family and friends. She was a certified scuba diver, cake-decorator-extraordinaire, missionary minister, competitive champion bowler, music-loving harmonizer, ceramic artist, Star Trek enthusiast/collector and spent countless hours as a master knitter/crocheter. Many are the children who received crocheted lovies and heirloom blankets from “Nana”. Marion will always be remembered for her kind and loving heart, beautiful smile, infectious laugh, positivity and warm hugs. She will be greatly missed by all.
Marion leaves her devoted sisters-in-law, Sharon Ellershaw of Fort Worth, TX and Lynn Bilman of Basking Ridge, NJ; her cherished and adored children, Catherine Mnich and her husband Frank of Suffield, CT; Lawrence Lelievre and his wife Susan of Rome, NY; Scott Lelievre of Monson, MA; Charles (Buddy) Budreau and his wife Tisha of St. Cloud, FL; Michelle Budreau England of Spring Hill, FL; Stewart Budreau and his wife Brenda of Huntington, MA; Sandra Budreau of Wilbraham, MA; and Norene StMartin and her husband Bernard of Huntington, MA. She also leaves her much loved grandchildren who added so much joy to her life: Gerald Martin, III (Elizabeth), Traci Napoli (Vincent), Frank Mnich,III (Norela), Matthew Lelievre (Marissa), Heather Lareau (Thomas), Alycia Lelievre, Alyssa N. Lelievre, Kelli Gaucher (Mitchell), Chyanne Budreau, Cody Budreau, Brandon Smith (Jenna), Devin Smith, Morgan England, Jacob England, Serena Holcomb, Douglas Budreau, Christina Waldo, Billy Jo Parker, and 21 precious great grandchildren, as well as many endeared and caring cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and Kingdom Hall brothers and sisters. She was predeceased by her brothers, Lee Ellershaw and Jack Bilman, a son Steven Budreau, and a granddaughter, Andrea Waldo.
We wish to extend our deepest gratitude to the staff at Bayfront Hospital and Hospice, and are grateful to her dear friends and neighbors, among them Sandy Fox, Linda and Mike Geller, all who provided our mother with comfort, friendship, transportation and so much more.
