KORSON, Matthew A. 87, of CLearwater, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014 at his residence with his family by his side. Matthew was a longtime resident of Washington, DC. Loving husband of Dr. Stella Kontras and the late Catherine Korson. Beloved father of Irene (Frank) Holt, Koula( Nikolas) Mechelis, Marietta (George) Limber, and Antoinette (Chris) Nicholas; stepfather of Contance Kontras, Greg (Paula) Kontras, and Katherine (Adam) Kontras Glaser; dear grandfather of 10 and great-greandfather of one. Friends will be received at PUMPHREYS BETHESDA-CHEVY CHASE, INC., 7557 Wisconsin Ave, Bethesda, MD on Sunday, Oct. 26 from 7-9 pm with a prayer service 7:30 pm. The service will be held at Saint Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 2815 36th Street and Mass Ave., NW, Washington, DC 20007 on Monday, Oct. 27 at 10:30 am.
