MIlton Henry O'Neal, Jr passed away on January 27, 2025, at Oak Manor Nursing Home. He was born on December 31, 1933 in Troy, Alabama, to Milton H. O'Neal, Sr. and Totsie Byrd O'Neal. Milton graduated in 1952 from Andalusia High School where he served as Student Council President, was a member of the Senior Honor Society and played saxophone in the Concert Band. Milton earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Alabama and a full scholarship to Columbia University where he earned his Masters Degree in Art HIstory. After graduating, he enlisted in the Army and was a member of the First Calvary Band and Port Band in Japan. After his military Service, Milton's career took him to New York and Washington where he worked as an editor at Field and Stream magazine as well as Executive Editor for CEE Magazine in White Plains, New York. Milton loved classical music, classic movies and acting. When he retired to St. Petersburg, he became involved with various theatre groups, particularly the St. Peter Little Theatre where he served on the Board and acted in many plays, including Guys and Dolls. Dial M for Murder, and a Christmas Carol. He joined Oakhurst United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir, and acted in and helped direct several plays and musicals. Milton was also an artist and enjoyed painting impressionist paintings. He was a warm and caring man, loved, respected, and cared for by many friends. He leaves behind several cousins and close friends. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Milton's name to the choir program at Oakhurst United Methodist Church.
