Myra Jones Obituary

Myra was born on August 1, 1923 in Blackford County, Indiana to Ora and Edna Kizer. When their house burned down, she and her family moved in with her grandparents on the Kizer farm nearby. She was one of four sister, who remained close over the years. Her sisters were Merrian LeMay (deceased), Bonnie Goodwin (deceased) and Jeannie Turner. She met Victor Jones who lived on a farm in the community. They were married on November 9, 1939. She only agreed to marry him if he agreed not to be a farmer. Farm life was not her choice.

She worked very hard, but never at an outside job. She loved keeping her house spotless and preparing meals for her family. She was outstanding cook. She like to grow plants, sew, crochet and embroidery. She and Victor had two daughters, Joyce Ann and Sandra Sue. She was a wonderful seamstress and made many of the clothes she and her daughters wore.

In 1962, they moved to St. Petersburg, Florida and eventually bought a waterfront house and a boat. She loved to fish and entertain her grandchildren at the house and the waterfront.

Her was her life. She loved all of them:

Children:

Joyce Nelson (deceased), Sandy McKenzie

Grandchildren:

Ron"JR" Nelson (deceased), Randy Nelson, Vicki Bellino

Great Grandchildren:

Missy Clayton, Shannon Walker, Mark Nelson, Adam Nelson, Evan Nelson, Brian Nelson and Victor Bellino

Great Great Grandchildren:

Brittany Nelson, Alyssa Nelson, Ciera Nielson, Kaleigh Jenkins, Cali Jenkins, Riley Walker and Cam Walker

Great, Great, Great Grandchild:

Myra lived a long and happy life. She was married 74 years to Victor when he passed away in 2012. She was surprisingly resilient and adapted as necessary when her life changed.
