Vincent Joseph Sutton

SUTTON, Vincent Joseph, 96, of Clearwater, died on Sunday, June 3, 2018. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, in 1922, son of Monte Vere Sutton and Estella Marie Bischoff. He graduated from St. George’s High School and attended University of Pittsburgh. He was a U.S. Army corporal, chemist, and member of the YMCA and St. Cecilia’s Parish.

            He moved to FL in 1984, from Rouses Point, NY, to the paradise of the beach. He was a life-long learner: He enjoyed a wide variety of vegetable, hydroponic, and flower gardening; carpentry, wood scrollwork, and building houses; and different hobbies from remote-controlled sailboating, flying kites, and 35-mile bike rides. Every moment and person was greeted with a smile to the day he died.

            He is survived by 6 children, James, Michael, Barbara, Steven, Cynthia, and Karen; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and 1 brother. Service will be at 10:30 am on Saturday, July 7 at Rhodes Funeral Directors, 800 Druid Road East, Clearwater. Reception will follow at the YMCA Clearwater, 1005 South Highland Avenue, Clearwater.
